Our day at Coronet peak gondola allowed us to get views of the gorgeous mountain ranges and to feel part of the Queenstown experience without needing to walk far. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. My parents in their early 80s had the best time riding the gondola and the chairlift . We had views to Mt Aspiring and Mt Aoraki/Cook in the distance. The drive up is stunning too. Thanks team for making us feel part of it all.
Was great to check out the views on a quiet day with no tourists, but don't ask the girl at the top of the lift why you can't get the chairlift back down. Clearly she's been asked this question too many times and she lets you know it! Could just say the boarding platform isn't built for the chairlift decent so for safety reasons you have to catch the gondola. Maybe she broke up with her boyfriend that day?
this is not the famous Queenstown gondola, this is Coronet peak 2O min drive outside of Queenstown. The cashier told me a lot of people are confused -and do the same mistake
Blessed with sunny weather, we had a wonderful time at Coronet Peak. Despite reviews warning of a narrow road up to the car park we found it easily driveable and there was plenty of parking at the top. The staff in the centre were friendly and helpful, and we chose to take the chairlift to the top. We then climbed to the peak for we think 'the best views ever' where we had our picnic (and found a geocache!). After taking the gondola back down we took two more return trips up to the top just because we could! Do go ... it's well worth it!

What a lift !
Very special experience as staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. Staff at gondola/chairlift ride were great as well giving directions and advice. Our tickets allowed all day rides but we had two, checked out views from upper peak, fantastic and worth the effort. This was very great. Glen and Jill.
