Great thermal area. Steaming lakes and pools bubbling mud and different colours all set in great bush setting. Great viewpoints and not full of people like some other places
We very much enjoyed our day visiting Orakei Korako. Although it was rather drizzly it didn't spoil our enjoyment of the day.
Highly recommend booking a visit to Orakei Korako. The short ferry ride across the Waikato River was just the precursor to an amazing morning, walking through the stunning silica terraces. Lots of steps along the way but well worth it, as the incredible views kept appearing around every corner. Bubbling mud pools and a wonderful cave too. This a magical and very special experience which I shall remember for a very long time. The cafe too was a real treat after our adventure - lots of lovely treats and such friendly staff.
But not as good as Waimango
