Great pools

Extra charged
We arrived a little late and were charged extra for this. I asked what time we could stay until and the lady said that there was no limit. So we asked then why charge us extra for being late. The toilets were terrible and only one toilet in the main change rooms. We had great time In the pools.

Almost like a Dr Seuss book
Despite the rain we had a lovely visit. Water temperatures were great ranging quite a bit from level to level and in different areas of the individual pools. We’ve been hot springs enthusiasts for over 40 years and have never come across a similar location.

Peaceful and tranquil
From the moment I stepped into the foyer of Wairakei Terraces Thermal Pools I was excited to see what awaited me in the actual pools…I wasn’t disappointed ☹️ The lay out and “ambiance” of the surroundings blends in perfectly with the soothing feeling you get once in the water. The varying temperatures of the respective pools was great and it was so easy to move between the pools…i absolutely loved it there and will definitely be going back 😊

Love this place!
Great place to soak in the mineral goodness. Can feel it sinking into your skin! Beautiful atmosphere and lovely staff too. Highly recommended.
